T-Minus Four Days

motherfucking turkeyWe're off to a fantastic start so far. Two cuts (left hand thumb and index finger — they did a fantastic job sharpening my knives, by the way) and a burn, three inches down my left forearm (it's an oven thing.)

I can't wait to see what the final tally is. And I also can't wait until I can start touch typing again. It's very difficult to use your middle finger to hit the keys your index finger is supposed to be hitting in addition to the keys its supposed to be hitting.

Of course a little first aid help sometimes would be nice. But, you know, not required. I guess.

The stuffing recipe is easy, I'll try to type it up later tonight, but I'm already a little tired from cooking. Oh and possibly blood loss.

So far my week looks like the following:
Sunday

  • Finish Shopping
  • Make Stuffing

  • Sweet Potatoes
  • Cranberry Sauce

Tuesday

  • Gravy
  • Starting Rolls
  • Brining Turkey #1

Wednesday

  • Smoking Turkey #1
  • Baking off rolls
  • Brining Turkey #2

Thursday

  • Roast Turkey #2
  • Mashed Potatoes
  • EAT!!!

No, your eyes are not deceiving you. That is two turkeys. They're only 12 lbs each and there'll be eight of us. So there should be enough food in addition to some nice leftovers.

Yet, somehow I still had time to make Julie a little pasta tonight. Left over linguini with left over broccoli rabe with a sage garlic oil.
